Kevin Frame grew up in Coeur d’Alene and was a school teacher in Spokane for 13 years. Kevin’s summers consisted of working his busy window cleaning business and odd jobs. In 2000-2001, Kevin built his family’s house on their property in the foothills of Post Falls. Being his own general contractor proved to be an amazingly successful endeavor (for his first time). When it came time to do the kitchen, he looked into many options and decided to go with beautiful granite countertops. He had both heard such wonderful things about granite and was amazed at its natural beauty. When all was said and done, the granite countertops were their favorite part of their house. It was the jewelry of their kitchen.
Kevin enjoyed the construction field so much that he started thinking about making a major career change. While he was trying to decide which area of construction he wanted to pursue, his mother’s childhood friend in California said her son Bob had started his own granite countertop business in the Bay Area. Bob’s business, Ancient Stone, was quickly growing into a very successful business. Kevin made a phone call—and off to the Bay Area he went. After four days of watching Bob, Kevin decided to “take the plunge” (to this day, Kevin and his mentor Bob are the best of friends). Kevin started Living Stone, Inc. in April of 2004. He built a shop at his home to fabricate stone before and after his teaching obligation and on weekends as well. Soon after, Kevin cut his teaching schedule to half time. That lasted less than a year before Living Stone, Inc. was just swamped. The students at West Valley would have to say goodbye to Mr. Frame. Kevin has never looked back and loves growing the stone business. With the confidence Kevin has in the product and his eye for detail, combined with a wrestler’s work ethic, God has blessed the business that both contractors and clients alike enjoy working with.
It didn’t take long before Living Stone got too big for their home, so they built a commercial building in Post Falls’ new Expo Business Park. This new facility has allowed Living Stone, Inc. to provide its clients with the professionalism they need and deserve. Since then they have continued to add top of the line equipment and gather an incredibly skilled team to ensure they are able to offer the highest quality product with the best customer experience possible.
